As the album title POLITICS ASIDE says, Phoenix area Hip Hop trio Shining Soul puts their politics to the side to deliver a powerful statement on the state of the world and themselves in their newest full-length project. Always the type of artists to do their own thang, in POLITICS ASIDE, Shining Soul looked inwards for inspiration in hopes of sharing what provokes them to fight the good fight all day, everyday, while also making space to get free on the dance floor and beyond. Wrapped in soulful boom bap-stic production, Bronze Candidate and MC Liaizon once again lace their unique brand of ferocious, uplifting lyrics with soulful beats, and with DJ Reflekshin’s cuts adding the exclamation point to their transformative messages.

In POLITICS ASIDE, the sample-driven rebel disco joint “Doing My Thang”, the end of summer jam “Good Times”, the conscious Boom-Trap banger “All Day”, the autobiographical lyrics of “Day In The Life”, and the ladies' favorite “Rosario” (listen up fellas!) all show the range, originality, lyrical prowess and growth that your favorite two-MC and one deejay combo underwent since being deemed “Arizona's Public Enemy” by the Arizona Hip Hop Community.
